QUINCY & ALTHEA GOES CAMPING IN CALI!
06.27.08
For you left-coasters in need of fresh air and fresh cinema, be sure to head over to Big Sur in August to check out Quincy & Althea at the Big Sur Short Film Screening Series. This is the film's first outdoor ampitheater screening. I'm debating a visit myself. The debate features my poverty vs. my desires. A regular fight to the death. I'll announce the winnner soon!

To get there get on the old Highway 1 and find yourself at Big Sur. Then seek out the Henry Miller Library. It is easy – just drive, enjoy the incredible vistas, you will not miss it...
OVER LUNCH TRAILER FINALLY BIRTHED ONLINE!
02.23.08
It's the 39 seconds you've been waiting for, the Over Lunch trailer! Give it a viewing and send me love letters in response. Hopefully, this will make y'all scream for more. Or at least kindly request the complete film.
QUINCY & ALTHEA THE KING OF STUDENT FILM IN FARGO!
02.11.08
Another win for the crime fighting duo of Quincy & Althea. This time they pulled in the award for Best Student Narrative film at the Fargo Film Festival, or the "Triple F" for those in the know. Word on the street is the festival's venue is a grand old movie palace. Those of you in Fargo can stop complaining, because now you have something to do. Dress warm.
A couple of write ups worth mentioning and quoting:
A blogger in Alaska walked away from Quincy & Althea unsure if it or The Wine Bar was his favorite film. He seemed settled on The Wine Bar as his pick, but then wondered, "Or maybe Quincy & Althea a much looser, but more genuine film..."
Many miles away, a Wisconsin festival alum described the film in a much more decisive and blunt manner:
Quincy & Althea: Post-Katrina, a squabbling couple tries to break up. Amusing and odd.
That's a phrase that's been tossed at me a few times in my medium sized life. I believe the superintendent of my apartment building said something to that effect while he fixed an outlet in the living room last week. His comment arose after I confessed my lack of interest in having children, and instead admitted a keen interest in adopting a rich adult in need of a buddy. If you are of the disgustingly wealthy persuasion and are interested in me being your buddy dad, please email me immediately. Or just start sending money now and we will work out the other details later.
NEW UPDATE FOR A NEW YEAR.
02.10.08
I am still alive and kicking, as is Quincy & Althea. The film will touch down this month at the Durango Independent Film Festival in cool Colorado, the Ozark Foothills Film Festival in dreamy Arkansas, and the Cinequest Film Festival in the San Jose that runs adjacent to my youth headquarters of Santa Cruz.
Look for a trailer of Over Lunch to premiere real soon. Up next, the actual film!

QUINCY & ALTHEA A SUCCESS AT WOODSTOCK!
10.23.07
Word on the street is that Quincy & Althea played super out in the greenery of the Woodstock Film Festival. Wish I would have been able to attend the festivities as I heard they had a nice gift bag. Fortunately, Stephanie Fischette blogged about her experience on Filmmaker Magazine's website.
Amongst other musings, she wrote, "...I also got a kick out of Doug Lenox's Quincy and Althea where we encounter a married couple eager for divorce in the wake of post-Katrina New Orleans…"

QUINCY & ALTHEA FINISHES IN A 5-WAY TIE FOR FIRST AT THE HAMPTONS!
10.22.07
I'm thrilled to announce that Q & A took home a Student Award at the 15th Annual Hamptons International Film Festival. They even let me stay on the island for a day. For free! Thanks to all those involved and those that weren't. Winning at the Hamptons makes me feel like somebody even though I am not. As long as I make my own announcements, I can only remain a simple man.

OJAI GIVES QUINCY & ALTHEA THE BIG HELLO!

The Bonic Woman and the Six Million Dollar Man loved their hometown of Ojai and so do I. Quincy & Althea has been selected to next month's Ojai Film Festival. Hopefully, they will use the theme music and sound effects from both shows during the festival.

NEVADA CITY AND QUINCY & ALTHEA FALL IN LOVE!
08.30.07
What a dynamite time I had in the pistol shaped county that holds Nevada City. Quincy & Althea won over the crowd and took home the coveted Audience Award for Best Film. I made tons of friends, possibly some enemies, and have probably been forgotten by numerous others. Nonetheless, I will never forget my time in Nevada City. Kudos to Jason and Jeff, the festival leadership mob, for putting on a Bad Ass show. No self respecting director should ignore this festival. Get on the NCFF train now y'all! Thanks to all my new friends, Andrew, Lindsey, Sasha, Art, Addie, and cast of thousands. We're all in the same gang now. Word.
I plan to return next year to have more cocktails at the Mineshaft and the National Hotel Bar. I vow to return next year to catch more cinema at the Nevada Theatre and the Magic Theatre. And of course, I promise to return to violently defend my Audience Award Title!
You need to know more, don't you?

ATTENTION BRITS, CANADIANS, AND HIPPIES!
QUINCY & ALTHEA IS COMING TO ENTERTAIN YOU!
08.08.07
Much to my globetrotting glee, Quincy & Althea has been hit by a barrage of festival acceptances. The film is set to screen at the Woodstock Film Festival, the Edmonton International Film Festival, and the Raindance Film Festival. Somehow and someway, I plan on getting myself to all three festivals. I might have to use imposters and/or a time travel machine, but I'm gonna try to make it happen like Mariah Carey.
Each locale has its draw. Edmonton is home to the largest mall in North America. Raindance is set in everyone's favorite London: London, England. Two ugly heroes of mine, Iggy Pop and Mick Jones, will be judges at this year's festival. Hopefully this will lead to much mayhem. I love mayhem. Woodstock has yards of beautiful land and has been home to love, riots, and loving riots.
I have never been to Edmonton, London, or Woodstock, and happily accept the chance to alter the situation. Hope to see y'all in all of these cinema hubs.
WOODS HOLE ONLINE COMMUNITY ABUZZ ABOUT QUINCY & ALTHEA!

A pair of Woods Hole Film Festival attendees recently gushed about their Quincy & Althea viewing experience. Another unceremoniously gave it three stars and no written review. Whatever, I accept casually positive reviews too!

QUINCY & ALTHEA TO PLAY AT THE PLAYGROUND OF THE STARS!
07.26.07
I don't like golf, but do like deserts and film festivals. Thus, I happily announce that Quincy & Althea has been accepted to the renowned Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films. I would dance a jig if I didn't hate dancing. I might Greyhound to Bob Hope Springs, so stay tuned. My buddy, Darius Monroe, is also a part of the fest with his film, Midway. I fully vouch for the trailer, the film, and the man. I cannot, in good conscience, fully endorse Greyhound.
MORE FESTIVAL LOVE FOR QUINCY & ALTHEA...
07.05.07
I hate to bore people, but Quincy & Althea will continue its festival run. The film has been accepted to the Rhode Island International Film Festival, The Roxbury Film Festival, and the 1 Reel Film Festival as part of the orgy that is Bumbershoot in Seattle. Hopefully, this will lead to someone using my name and "Wicked Pisser" in the same sentence. Also catch The Avett Brothers and Greg Fitzsimmons at Bumbershoot. Their music is Ike Turner awesome and he's Rodney Dangerfield funny.

LA FILM FESTIVAL SCREENING A SUCCESS, NO COCAINE NEEDED
07.02.07
I survived LA with no car, free booze and abundant cinema. I could have made a killing working as a rent boy in West Hollywood, but instead I focused on what everyone goes to LA for: Ass kissing and self promotion. They even let me stand on the red carpet before making me work as the bathroom attendent once the real stars arrived.
GO GOLD DIGGIN' WITH QUINCY & ALTHEA!
06.11.07
Quincy & Althea has been accepted into the Nevada City Film Festival family and will screen in August at this year's fest. I'm told Nevada City is the Santa Cruz of Nevada County. In a good way. Go find out if its true. Ex-Supertramp member Rodger Hodgson lives in town. That must mean something. For the record I've only heard glorious things about the town and the fest. The only negative comments were made by confused people thinking the city was located in the state of Nevada.

QUINCY & ALTHEA MENTIONED IN SAME INTERNET BREATH
AS SPIKE LEE'S DOC!
06.10.07
My new favorite writer, FilmStew Staff, dropped a sweet little mention of Quincy & Althea on their industry focused site on June 6th.
Best part:
"...But what about the fictional side of the Katrina equation? Has there been, or does there appear likely to be in the near future, anything as memorable as Lee's measured take? Yes is the answer.
It's called Quincy and Althea. This 10-minute short, about a pair of bickering 60-year-olds more concerned with their crumbling marriage than a crumbling city, has won writer-director Doug Lenox Jury prizes at Memphis' and Mississippi's Magnolia film festivals..."
